2.5 hours on my own
I finally had some time to myself yesterday afternoon. It was the last day of sale at Kiddy Palace and I needed to go exchange a tank top and tee for Lia, and at the same time to buy more of it. Lia has outgrown her existing tank tops and as she'd be starting child care soon, these new ones would come in handy. The first two weeks which she'd be on trial and thus no uniforms yet, I had to prepare ample sets of clothes for her. I chose plain and white ones as it'd be easier to match her shorts. Moreover it costs just S$ 2.80 each (U.P S$ 3.50), I had to get more isn't it? Seeing the discount, I grabbed a water bottle for the little one, for school. Besides, I made a promise (she loves water bottles now) to her when I left, so I had to keep to it. A doodle board too, (those magnetic ones that can be written and erased over and over again) as Lia had expressed interested in it while over at my parents-in-law's place.
I finally get the chance to browse in Mini Toons, leisurely. The shop is quite narrow and it is quite hard to be in there with a baby and her stroller. And always, the shop gets crowded with kids minutes after I step in! I don't know how long I was in there, but I knew I took my time indeed. Bought a pair of socks for myself, a pack of mini hair clips and a little comb for Lia. I know she's too early for it but Lia likes to imitate me combing my hair, so I know she'd be happy to own a comb. Lia's child care checklist specified that we need to bring a comb too, so might as well. The hair clips, hee, were the smallest I can find in there. Tried it on Lia and I managed to clip some of her hair, am planning for Lia to wear one on her first day of school, least she gets mistaken for a "di-di" by her classmates!
Next stop, Popular bookshop. I have a 20% discount voucher and I am keen to buy some books for the little one. I ended up with just one thick hard cover/pages book on counting for Lia, and one for myself. The one for myself has got a cute title: "How to con your kid." =p Replenished some stationeries to fully utilise the discount voucher, and I'm out of there.
I wanted to stay longer in the mall but it's close to dinner and that signals the end to my time. Packed some fast food for James and myself, I headed home... Right, that's it, 2.5 hours on my own.
