Sleeping by herself
Lia had been sleeping in our room since we got her the kiddy bed. Though James and I have had discussed on wanting to let her sleep by herself, we never quite carry out our plan. Then comes one fine afternoon; Lia had brought her pillows and stuff into her room wanting to take a nap (on the playmat), after which she ended up playing instead of sleeping.
Me: "Lia, I don't see you napping, please bring your pillows back to mommy's room. Don't leave it on the playmat."
Lia: "No, later I want to sleep in my own room, I need the pillows..."
Me: "Really? You wanna sleep in your own room? I ask papa to move your bed over okay?"
Lia: "Okay." (And she ran into our bedroom where James is taking a nap attempting to wake him up)
I raised my eyebrows, and thought to myself that since Lia wants it, we might as well do it.
Me: "When papa wakes up then we get his help to move okay? Mommy no strength to move your bed..."
Lia has gotten quite excited by now and couldn't sit still. She kept going into our bedroom to check if James had woken up. Even asked me a few times to move it saying she'd help me!
So when James finally woke up, he moved Lia's bed into her own bedroom. We didn't expect her to pull through the ordeal of sleeping by herself, but surprisingly, she did! It has been more than a month since the move, she still needs me to accompany her in her room until she dozes off but then again, that is a great achievement which made us proud of our baby.
