Grilled pork chop and pasta
I was cracking my brains on what to cook for din din yesterday and the weather being really humid didn't help at all. And then, I remembered my Cajun chicken and poached salmon! Yes, I could do a western one-dish-meal again! ;p
Got changed, and we went downstairs for some grocery shopping!
Lia was puzzled and a little scared when I put her in my shopping cart, she meekly squatted in it not daring to move an inch!
I had seen frozen pork in the mini-mart some days back and I decided to try it!
Bought a pack of pork chops! Neat, vacuumed-packed pieces, and there is even an expiry date on it!
(Costs S$ 3.40, around 360 grams)
I had already marinated the pork chops but when James got home, he insisted on using this pepper grinder which Dee bought for us when we shifted in. And so, I insisted on taking a picture to blog on it! ;p
This is what I managed to whip up!
Grilled pork chop and pasta, with a ball of mashed potatoes! The pasta sauce was homemade and thus, quite light. I blended part of the tomatoes and the rest were chopped up in chunky pieces, added some ground black pepper, Italian Seasonings and Sage leaves for flavor. (BTW, chanced upon this recipe in McCormick website, looks good!) James said the pork was too tough, and that I should pound it before I marinate and once more + dip it back in marinate, before I cook it, he claimed that he saw the auntie from the western food stall doing it and their pork chops were really nice and tender. Okay, buy me a pounder first and I will remember to pound the pork next time...
Luckily, I kept the stock from grilling thepock (I am really dazed, have been spelling it this way!) pork and I get to use it as a dip!
I will put up my recipe when I am more composed, and Fannie, I have to apologise for not reverting to your comment, I just got to read it! I will either email you the recipe or try blog on it soon ya... :)
