James won S$900 BEST voucher!
It all started with an innocent evening of window shopping. The man have had something in mind and we headed down to the newly opened BEST Denki at Compasspoint. We found a good deal (I hope) at the roadshow and confirmed the purchase. BEST was having this 3-days promotion whereby shoppers spending S$50 in a single receipt would be applicable for this lucky draw carried out live in the showroom. And the winner walks away with S$900 worth of BEST vouchers, doubled to S$1,800 if you are an existing BEST card member. There were a few timings for this lucky draw, and we managed to catch the last of the day, at 10pm.
We stood around, and the lucky draw starts. Drums roll, the store manager drew a ticket. The judges looked at it and laughed, and the emcee announced that the draw ticket was invalid for it belonged to the grand draw instead. And so, the store manager drew a second ticket.
That was it. =)
I was the one whom filled up the draw ticket and I knew at that very instance we've won even before the emcee could finish reading out James' full name. James, was stunned, and I had to nudge him to go forward. They verified the receipts, and his IC, and I clapped like mad when it was confirmed that James is the one.
James have had the intention of joining as a BEST card member and he could have walked away with S$1,800 worth of vouchers. But this draw got us before we could send the application forms in. What a pity! But never mind! Things probably wouldn't turn out this way if James owns the membership in the first place!
And so, here's a picture of our victory; James, still stunned, and the store manager, Mr Denan Tan. (Hey, it rhymes! LOL!)

Dear Gene
While sourcing for a pre-school for my boy who will be turning 2 next January, I saw your blog with your findings on pre-school MMI @ Sengkang. Would appreciate if you will give us your kind advise on MMI before we actually register him. (Eg. Culture, Environment, Teachers & etc.) Or perhaphs, you would recommend us to another pre-school that you've known.
Million of thanks.

Hi there,
From my past experience, I would not recommend MMI SK to anyone. I am not sure if they have improved (I am fussy and have my own standards) but for myself, I would not go back there again. They are not that terrible, but their fees are high and after being with them for like 6 mths, I feel that everything just ain't worth it. I've blogged a bit on the school sometimes in March this year, here's one link you can check out: http://mommygene.blogspot.com/2007/03/withdrawal-from-school.html
If you would like to correspondence further, please leave your email address and I'd get in touch with you. :)
Regards,
Gene
