Daiso and Mom's cooking
(Last Sunday, 09 April 2006)
Finally, it's MY turn to go shopping at Daiso, IMM! I loved shopping at Daiso and after reading that Joyce and Wenn had gone there recently, I suddenly had the urge too! I cannot remember my last trip, and so, it must be ages ago!
We had planned to visit my parents and I cleverly suggested to James that we pop by Daiso at the same time! And Lia, we can leave her with my parents of course! So after our lunch, we sneaked out of my parents' house and off we go!
Just the two of us! Hiak Hiak! ;D
Of course, we "chiong-ed" into Daiso first! I got carried away and loaded my shopping cart with boxes and containers, and boxes and containers! I may have a reasonable collection of Tupperwares but the containers looked so clean and nice (I liked them white and transparent) and I just couldn't resist!
James looked at me (and my shopping cart) wide-eyed when he found me later. He quietly asked me to reconsider on the items and not do impulsive buying... I calmed down, went through every item with him and we threw back several of them. *Phew!
And so, here's my haul from Daiso! There were more things but James had promptly took out his items and used them and what's left in the bag are my portion.
I bought myself a new apron, (just) two plastic containers, a small rolling pin, a pair of long blade scissors, a woolly dry net and a pack of two facial sponges; which was to be used as Lia's bath sponge! (Her present bath sponge is still okay but I decided to change it)
I helped Lia to check out Pranks, bought her a cardigan - exact same design and colour as the one she has now but in a larger size, and a pair of track pants - exact same design but different colour from the one she has now and in a larger size also.
Later we went grocery shopping at Giant Supermarket. It was really crowded and the cashiers were slow! Nevertheless, James and I we made fun of each other while queuing and that made time pass... I bought a whole cheesecake, for just S$ 4.20! I was rather happy with the buy until the next day when I tasted the cake. The taste, was really S$ 4.20 indeed. =(
The cake was rather bland, and I decided to eat it with Kit Kat! Haha! I was thinking of some hot fudge actually but I have none of that in the house and thus, I made do with Kit Kat! =p
While we were away... The little one was having fun too...
She climbed into the sofa and coffeetable (that's nothing new) and played with the jars of tidbits.
I was complaining of the weather and the sore throat that I felt is coming up and Mom, she gave me these supplements to try...
From Elken, the first bottle from left, IG6 - First 6 hours of true colostrum. Whoa! Colostrum! The middle bottle, Ester-C250 - we can all tell from the bottle's label that this is vitamin C. My mom raves about this, saying that she hasn't been sick since she started taking it! *Touchwood!* The last bottle on the right, Elken Spirulina, I am most happy and keen to take this! Have read about the goodness of this green food somewhere and I think I really need it!
Dinner time! I loved my mom's cooking!
Clockwise from top: Chilli (padi) and garlic prawns, xiao-bai-cai, steamed fish with sweet and sour gravy, stewed chicken wings!
This one's the best, ginseng black chicken soup!

I also think that my mom's cooking is the best. I didn't realise that when I was still staying with them and only missed her cooking after I moved out. :P
