2ndhand Fashion & Jumble Bazaar @ Tanglin Mall!
The day has arrived! Hiak Hiak!
I had balloted and got a lot for this bazaar at Tanglin Mall and yesterday was the day! I got lot 19, one of the more prominent lots which was slightly bigger than the rest. Due to the lot's position, we get to receive customers from three angles - front, left and right! We're like the semi-detached houses whilst the others, terrace. Most of them could only have customers in front of their lots. However, one down side, Dee and I were literally baking under the sun when we were setting up at around 230pm!
See, this is our lot... So sunny!
Our dad sent us down in his lorry and here are our barangs! The three white boxes were mine. Filled to the brim with clothes and stuffs!
Mr Sun's powerful beams came down on us directly, shining ever so triumphantly, and for a while, I was feeling faint! Our customers got too hot after a while and promptly left us... Things were looking good at the rest of the stalls while Dee and I, we were fretting and moaning at the heat and fanning ourselves and all.
Luckily, dad left us two big umbrellas...
(Here's Dee with one)
Things didn't get better until like 645pm? That was when the sun was setting and people felt more comfortable to actually stop and look at our stuffs.
And me, finally able to smile...
(I wore a cap because I got a BAD haircut at Supercuts, CP! Arghh, dammed hair stylist!)
(Crowd's warming up!)
I think Tanglin Mall Flea Market is the best place for selling your pre-loved clothes (Ladies mainly!). There were loads of Philippinas, and they are a nice and jovial bunch! Yes, lots of haggling too! How fun! But, forget those very worn and way out of fashion clothes, Philippinas are women after all. Most of them loved spaghetti straps, and tubes, which is good because I had loads of them! Hah! We started off with tops at S$ 5 per piece, bottoms S$ 8, but business was bad then. These Philippinas are smart, they knew the suitation far too well and they knew when to strike because as time goes by, the vendors will start slashing prices.
I left the little one in the care of my parents and after dinner, they popped by with some food for us! I was expecting Lia to start her whining and crying when she sees me, followed by some koala-bearing actions, but....., she DIDN'T! Instead, she was rather nonchalant and just grinned a little at me when I called out to her. Humph, how disappointing!
My mom carrying Lia... She likes to imitate us drinking water from the bottle...
My dad took Lia for a ride on his trolley...
Later, Lia got bored with sitting on the trolley and wanted to have a go pulling it...
Here's the first video Dee took. Lia kept wanting to go inside Mcdonalds and the mall...
Video two, Lia sat on the trolley and she thought she can pull herself around with it...
...which later, she managed to push herself around while on it!
We had started packing up and by 11-ish, we were ready to go home. We sent James back first in dad's lorry and it was already 1230am when we reach my parents' place! (Lia and I stayed over) The little one have had a long day and she started whining when I showered and dressed her. After she'd nursed, Lia clung onto my body and sort of drifted off. She wasn't sound asleep yet and refused it when I tried to lay her down. My stomach was rumbling and I am longing for supper! It was around half an hour later that I managed to sneak out to the kitchen to hunt for food!
I should have sold around half of my clothes, probably close to a hundred pieces and I got back S$ 288. Minus the rental which Dee and I split (S$ 35 each), gave my parents S$ 50 (it was S$ 100 but they gave back a fifty to Lia) for the hard work, I am left with S$203! I later offered the fifty to James because he had helped a great deal too but he refused... How stupid... Oops! Heehee... ;p
