Holiday camp - my parents' house

Lia and myself we stayed at my parents' house last week. It was a holiday camp for both of us for Lia had lots and lots of PLAY (and no study), while I was exempted from cooking and housework! My mom was on leave and I thus got to savour her cooking once again. One of my mom's I-must-blog-it food; heavenly "wu-tao-gou" (cantonese: steamed yam cake)!

A lingering fragrance of dried shrimps and succulent Chinese mushrooms amidst those soft mushy yam; not to mention the crispy fried onions and spicy chill paste, this is my type of comfort food!

Okay, here's the second yummy food for this entry. We were grocery shopping with my cousin when I chanced upon this: cinnamon biscuits coated with milk chocolate!

The biscuits were as pictured, nice, thin and appetizing, and the light aroma of cinnamon makes it a refreshing change from my usual chocolate biscuits (think: KitKat). Lia loved this too! From Cold Storage, S$ 4.10 (S$4.12?)

I always end up shopping when I'm back at my parents' place. A big bag of loot from Daiso is not uncommon, cheap and nice clothes from the market (think: labels snipped), and the list goes on. My first purchase this time round; a Sesame Street pouch, for Lia. I had to bring some clothes for alteration (my trusty seamstress is all the way in Jurong) and there happened to be some pasar malam stalls. I liked the pouch myself and thought it was very nicely done for an imitation. Costs just S$1.50 (A5 size), I quite refused to let this pouch out of my sight for fear Lia would damage it!

I couldn't get enough kids stuffs and next is this new lunchbox, for Lia! (My kid is lucky isn't she?) Nope, not from the market, but a spree. This came in from the States (Gap) and it sure is pricey. I joined the spree because of the fact that the organiser had a 20% discount code. But I had to pay two units of shipping charges because of the fact that I've ordered a bag. This is quite one of the rules when you order bags, shoes from a spree. Because they're often bulky. And so, I paid like S$32 for this sunny lunchbox.

Last but not least, see what Dee has done to my kid...

She tied up Lia's hair in funny tails! I was surprised that this could be done on Lia. I had never attempted to tie (clip-yes) Lia's hair for it seem such a far thing to do. Anyway, it IS achievable and Lia went on to show off her new hairdo to the family's dog, her ah-ma and ah gong too.
