Giant beansprout (lamp) and stationary stock-up

So much to blog, but so lazy to do so. This entry should date somewhere end of June...

We were at Popular Bookstore stocking up Lia's stationary when James decided to get this for the kid. A new released (design) 3M Polarizing table lamp.

Lia's study table is in a corner of her room. Though we placed it right at the window, it does gets pretty dim at times as her table's low. We've haven't had the chance to look around much, only shopped at IKEA but James rejected all of IKEA's table lamps for he found them too glaring for the kid's tender eyes. Since I had a 20% discount coupon, we decided to go for it. After the discount, we paid S$ 143.20 for this giant beansprout. And we get a BESTA electronic dictionary free! (Yet to collect but we're happy all the same!) :)

Got a couple of Nursery level workbooks for the kid. My sister-in-law (read: my all time consultant when it comes to education for the kid) recommends that I buy workbooks by this publisher - Educational Publishing House Pte Ltd, or EPH for short. They'd revise their workbooks yearly and we get up to date materials in sync with the local education system. I later chatted with two sales assistants at different Popular stores and got similar feedback.

Singapore's educational standards have rose rapidly indeed. I thought the Chinese workbook looked 'cheem'... Or is it just me?

Oh, here's another recommendation by my consultant...

Staedtler (round) pencils in 2B lead - darker lead thus better for a kid to do her writing, round pencils more comfortable for those little hands. Pilot foam erasers - of better quality, they erase effortlessly and cleanly too. Triple lines exercise books - economical for the never-ending writing practices, triple lines are a good guide for the kid to practice her ABCs. ;p

You're welcomed, Jean! :)

Fannie,
I used the lamp for a few days and liked it myself too! I do hope it's a good investment long run. :)
