RooShopper mini tote

My RooShopper mini tote came in the mail today! :D

(S$16, inclusive of normal postage)

It is a light blue one with a piglet-on-sofa design. I am planning to use this as a toilet-bag for Lia. Well, kids are more sensitive to germs and all and we'd need anti-bacterial wipes, disinfectant spray, toilet paper etc, isn't it? Sometimes when they soil their clothes we'd need a change too. I've also packed several plastic bags into the new toilet-bag; for soiled clothes and Lia's pee.

Why is it for pee? That's because my little one is terribly afraid of the automatic flushing system. Often, public toilets have a STRONG and LOUD flush and sometimes when you are just halfway through, the toilet flushes at its own accord. And that, scared the wits out of Lia. Once we step into a cubicle, her eyes will scan the wall for that sensor; most toilets have had an automatic flush system now, and Lia would insistently refuse to pee in the toilet bowl. She's done it on the toilet floor several times, we do wipe the pee off but that's getting too disgusting. Then, I found a way - pee into a plastic bag. Very environmental unfriendly, I know. But what to do? You can't let a kid walk around with a full and almost bursting bladder, and you certainly can't let your kid pee in her pants.

Hi Gene, just want to share that Grace too was afraid of that loud flush from the toilet bowl and would jump up and almost in tears. Then, one day, while I was sitting on it and it flushes, Grace looked at me amazed how come mummy not getting up... hee..so I immediately used that day as a lesson to explain to her that it is ok.. and nothing to be afraid of..

And the next time, when it happen to her again, I held on to her in case she jumped off and told her that she is brave and not afraid of it anymore - face full of smile to distract her.. heehee... from there on, she overcame the fear :)

Hey Jean,

Thanks for sharing your experiences! Wow, Grace is so good and brave! I offered to hold on to Lia too, but she refused to get on in the first place! I guess I will have to keep trying and hope she passes this phase soo. :)

Hello Anonymous,

Thanks for sharing, we've looked at portable potty before, but as I sometimes bring Lia out on my own, it is quite bulky to lug it along. When my hubby is driving, we do bring along her baby potty too, heehee! But it still gets troublesome when we've parked too far and the kid suddenly tells you she's urgent! -_-"

I just hope Lia overcomes her fear soon.

Ethyl was like Lia previously and what I did was to carry her up when she needs to pee. After a while, like Jean's experience, she realised that it is nothing so scary about the loud flush, she slowly got used to it...Hope Lia can overcome her fear soon.

Ath initially too, she wld struggle off when the flush activated prematurely... and refuse to go. Then once when I finally got her to go on it and it flushed midway, I told her the flush was "splashing" her butt and we laughed abt it.
