Buying spree at Popular Bookstore IMM
Armed with a 20% discount coupon, I spent like four hours in Popular bookstore yesterday! Besides basic stationaries, I bought these for Lia for our home practice sessions. :D
1) Logical Genius, S$20.72 after discount, usual price S$25.90
This is for our instant memory games. Comes with two magnetic boards and several magnetic shape cards. I set the test and flash one magnetic board, Lia has to arrange on her magnetic board the correct answers. I have the option to make my own magnetic cards/counters for Daiso sells the 'raw' magnet with adhesive on one side. Just need time (and energy and my brains).
2) Magic Geometric Puzzle, S$19.92 after discount, usual price S$24.90
This set comes with a magnetic board, magnetic foam shapes and a booklet of puzzles. Good for eye training, and passing time. Hee...
3) Threading Board, S$19.92 after discount, usual price S$24.90
Finger training and eye training at the same time. It comes with a wood base, pink and yellow counters and threads in four colours. I started this set today. The slotting of counters is easy with my help.
But not the threading. Lia lost interest for she couldn't figure out how to weave the thread to get the picture. I end up to be the one doing it. She definitely needs more encouragement.
And I bought small containers from my beloved Daiso for the threads and counters! S$2 for the set of containers and tray as seen here.
4) Mini Smart Book, S$22.32 after discount, usual price S$27.90
This is quite like the Noddy Fun Book set as used by The Shichida Method (TSM). Lia has been attending lessons at TSM since January this year. Though I've already sent in my withdrawal letter (she's finishing this end June), I am still very keen in their brain training methods. Flash cards (I make most of them) are already in our daily home practice sessions, and needless to say, I bought the above sets with influences from TSM in order to can continue with brain training activities for Lia after her lessons stop.
5) Flash cards! $5.52 after discount, offer price $6.90
I bought these two sets of flash cards to add on to my collection. The price tag states an offer price of $6.90, I thought that was nett already but to my delight, it was still applicable for the 20% discount! The cards were smaller than A5 (A5's the good size to flash) but still manageable. Pictures are clean and clear, and there are twenty-five cards in one set; of which I will further split into two sets of ten cards each (rest 5 cards = spare). That makes it to be less than S$3 for a set of 10 nice cards minus all the pictures searching, printing, cutting and pasting; I've got a good deal! ;p
