Mee hoon kuay, wanton hor-fan & my seamstress
I stayed in Jurong West during my primary & secondary school days and over the years, I have come to like these two types of foods, of which I can eat over and over again without feeling sick. I always make it a point to visit the stalls when I'm back to stay at my parents' house.
1) Mee hoon kuay (handmade noodles)
I have been patronizing this stall since my secondary school days. I loved their soup base, I loved their chilli paste, I just loved everything about this bowl of mee hoon kuay! I know the location like the back of my hand, and I forgot to take note of the coffeeshop's name and stall's name. All I know is that they are located in block 496, Jurong West street 41, and they have been there for the past thirty years.
2) Wanton hor-fan
Location: Du Du Shu Shi, 505 Jurong West Street 51
(forgot to take note of stall's unit number)
I packed my wanton hor-fan home and this is how it looked like.
Messy, but yummy! They used thin hor-fan, and it is doesn't stick together despite the fact that I ate it more than half an hour later. (I had to take a bus home from the market)
3) My favourite seamstress
Located in the same area (as the wanton hor-fan) is my favourite seamstress.
Shop name: Siew Lee Dressmaking & Boutique
Location: 504, Jurong West stree 51, #01-231.
Telephone: 6565 6373
A family business operation, they sell shoes and school bags at the front, and my seamstress and her sister operates at the back of the shop.
That's me, with my seamstress' sister checking my halterneck top for alterations. I'm wearing my bra clip!
They also sell a small range of beads and sequins.
Lia was busy dashing around, and having fun taking photos with Dee!
