New skincare products from Bio-essence, Eucerin, La Roche-Posay & Vichy

I've used Dermalogica skincare for the past 1.5 years and it is starting to get monotonous. Taking the chance that it's GSS now, I started looking out for alternatives. You know, I was eyeing Laneige initially, and all my new purchases were totally out of the unexpected! I chanced upon bio-essence serum in the Dee's CLEO magazine, and for the rest, I chance upon them while passing time in SGH's pharmacy. Alright, I am gonna show off my new skincare products now!

Bio-essence's bio-cell repair rejuvenating serum, S$31 (40ml), after a 20% discount, from Watsons.

Reasons: 1) I needed one; was previously using
skin hydrating booster and it ran out. 2) CLEO magazine recommended it. 3) There was a 20% discount; one ounce of the skin hydrating booster would have cost me around S$60 - I buy online*, and I felt that S$31 is an economical price to pay for a serum.
Verdict: Its fragrance was a little too strong for me, other than that, it worked fine, easily absorbed and non-greasy on its own.

Eucerin hydro-balance cream, S$27.90 (50ml) after a 20% discount, from SGH Pharmacy.

Reasons: 1) My current moisturiser (
skin smoothing cream) felt too greasy in this humid weather thus I am looking for a lighter moisturiser for the day. 2) There was a 20% discount and price was within my budget! 3) The cream is fragrance free and it felt good as I tried it at the back of my hand. 4) I had time to ponder over it, no sales assistant looking over my shoulder.
Verdict: I started on it yesterday and it felt good! Light and hydrating, no sticky feel on my face. :)

La Roche-Posay tinted sunscreen, SPF 50+ UVB/UVA, S$ 33.90 (50ml), from SGH Pharmacy.

Reasons: 1) My current sunscreen (
super sensitive faceblock) is running low. 2) Price was definitely within my budget; LRP at S$ 33.90 (50ml), super sensitive faceblock at around S$ 57 (50ml) - I buy online*. 3) SA commented that La Roche-Posay is good in producing sunscreen, and at the same time, a nice aunty came by and asked for a sunscreen sample. I got to know that nice aunty is using Vichy products, and that her friend recommended her the LRP range of sunscreen! 4) This is SPF 50+, index UVA=PPD 28; if I remember correctly, the SA said this is the highest for skincare products now. 5) Apparently, there are two types of sun protection: "city sunscreen - lower SPF" and "outdoor sunscreen - high SPF". SA said this is the latter so it sure comes in handy when I need to work. 6) Tinted sunscreen = helps to even out skin tone and I am hoping this will make a good make-up base; I use pressed powder only.
Verdict: This felt better than the super sensitive faceblock. I used it this afternoon and the cream blended easily. I used my pressed powder on top of it and it settled on easily too. I stepped out of the house at 3pm bringing Lia to her Shichida lesson; the sun was strong but my face didn't feel sticky despite a long wait at the bus stop!

Vichy deep cleansing gel for acne prone skin, S$ 26.40 (200ml), & hydra-perfecting toner, S$ 20.80 (200ml), both comes with a 20% discount, from SGH Pharmacy.

Reasons for deep cleansing gel: 1) Currently using
ultracalming cleanser for day+night and felt that it wasn't effective in removing impurities at the end of the day. 2) I am prone to acne - PMS. 3) There was a 20% discount! 4) It smells great! Think green tea and watermelon!
Verdict: My face felt squeaky clean, and to my surprise, it still feels soft. I have this mindset that deep cleansing gels are usually harsh because they are suppose to deep cleanse. Hee, I was wrong. I use this only at night and I am pleased with the results.

Reasons for toner: 1) My current toner (multi-active) is running low. 2) I want a wipe off toner to remove those last traces of impurities. 3) There was a 20% discount!
Verdict: It has got a nice scent; I felt good using it (because it's new) but so far, no complains!

I almost wanted to get Vichy's exfoliating cream but I stopped short because my time is running out. James started giving funny reasons like Teri's gonna poo all over the floor if we don't make it home quick. Anyway, I still have some face scrub at home, will save this money for the time being. The SA was nice and gave me some samples, I tried it yesterday and I'm pleased with the results too. I have an urge to go stock up on these products for there is a 20% discount^ now, and if all goes well, I might make the switch totally. :D

*Online purchase: I used the recent US exchange rate of 1.43, and added another S$5+ for vPOST shipping.
^Vichy's 20% discount is only at SGH Pharmacy for now, block 4, and it ends 28 June.
