KKH

I feel like an SAHM once again. Lia had been absent for the whole of last week and today still. We brought her to KKH yesterday and did a blood test, good thing it turned out fine and that was a great relief for James and myself!
And here's a view on what has happened:

Last last Friday (22 Sep): MMR vaccine (I kept deferring and it was 6 months late!)
Last Sunday (24 Sep): Feverish plus occasional phlegmly cough
Last Monday (25 Sep): Fever, and runny nose starts, therefore I kept her at home.

(Well, Lia's PD told me that the fever from taking the MMR vaccine shouldn't come so soon and thus, he'd concluded that Lia have had caught some virus again and it's acting up - I agree.)

Last Wednesday (27 Sep): I started brewing pear soup for Lia as she is still feverish, had lots of phlegm and is coughing quite badly in the night. Lia also went off her food. I read it from this
website, that this is because the measles part of the vaccine is starting to work. She's still nurse, but simply refused to eat. Sometimes it'd just be a few mouthful of food, and that would be all. There was no way we could entice her to eat, not even when we serve her favourite foods.

Last Thursday (28 Sep): A visit to the PD. (Lia lost like 600g of weight since the jab!) PD concluded that now, fever from the MMR vaccine is kicking in, and that is why the fever goes on without subsiding!

Last Friday (29 Sep): Slight feverish, and lots of phlegm still. But luckily, she has started nibbling on foods.

Last Sunday (1 Oct): High fever reaching 39.1 degrees at 4am in the morning! I promptly gave her Nurofen and as it was still over 38.5 degrees at 9am+, I gave her another dose of Nurofen again. Her fever came down by noon but shot up again to 39.1 degrees during tea break. I quickly search for information online regarding the MMR vaccine and after reading scary stories on what some vaccines could do to a child, I decided that we'd bring her to a hospital. We were actually due to go to Lia's school for a Children's Day cum Mid-autumn celebration, and it's a shame we had to miss it. =( I had ordered 60 pieces (2 trays filled to the brim) of doughnut balls for the potluck dinner, packed like 15 pieces to the hospital and we passed the other tray to my in-laws to help finish it.

We couldn't be any more relieved, when Lia's blood test came out fine. Just some flu virus, the doctor told us and judging from the way Lia behaves (she was touching things and all when in the doctor's room) he said our baby could go home.

Here's some pictures I managed to snap. Lia was wailing at the top of her lungs when the nurse poked and later squeezed her fourth finger to get blood.

Lia was holding on to her finger and kept mumbling, 'ssss, pain-pain...'
