My first homemade pizza!
All thanks to Loopymeals' easy-peasy-pizza, I finally plucked the courage to try my hand at making pizzas today! I have always loved homemade pizzas but thought it was a difficult dish, I liked it when we get to choose our favourite ingredients and I don't have to waste time picking out the undesired bits. Not only that, homemade pizzas are healthier, and less salty too!
Here's what I used and the steps!
Ingredients:
(Most of which I bought from Cold Storage)
Wholemeal pita, as pizza base
Tomato puree
Mozzarella cheese
2 slices turkey breast (From the gourmet counter) - cut into medium sized pieces
1 tomato - sliced
3 white button mushrooms - sliced
1/4 capsicum - sliced
1/2 yellow onion - sliced
1 red chilli (big) - sliced
Some butter
Olive oil
Italian herbs
Black pepper
Sea salt
Steps:
Lightly fry these together with olive oil: button mushrooms, capsciums, yellow onion and red chilli. Add a little water if it gets too dry. Place aside when done.
Lightly spread some butter on the pita.
Tomato puree is next, give it a good even layer on the pita.
Sprinkle some Italian herbs on the tomato puree.
Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on top of the tomato puree.
Arrange the stir-fry ingredients on top of the cheese, adding in tomatoes and turkey breast; the latter to be on top as it ain't cooked yet.
Sprinkle yet some more (I really mean, MORE! From the picture, you can see that I did not add enough of it) mozzarella cheese on top.
Black pepper and sea salt to taste.
Cook in the oven till cheese has bubbled or very slightly browned. I am not sure of the right temperature as I'd used my Sharp Double Grill Convection Microwave oven for the job. Pressed the 'pizza' button on it, estimate the pizza's weight, and the machine cooks it right away.
P/s. The above ingredients makes two 7" pizzas - I ate one whole by myself! ;p
